O'Leary Auto Group
Every car dealership wants to be seen as a fun, friendly place to buy a car. We wanted to show just how friendly the folks are at O'Leary Buick GMC in Saint John, NB – by showing the sales team having a ball stuffed onto a Sierra pickup truck!
Of course, not everyone could show up on the day, so we had a little help from Adobe Photoshop.
Well received by the public, this photo graced the client's newspaper ads and flyers for months and remains as the cover photo for the dealership's Facebook page.
Social Media Campaign for United Way
By researching statistics from 20+ partner agencies, we were able to compile more than 50 specific United Way member agency achievements/outcomes and associate each with a specific donation level.
Each factoid was added to a series of rotating tweets for a Twitter/Facebook social media campaign and radio PSA campaign.
As an example of meaningful content marketing, we've watched as this information increased the enthusiasm of prospective donors in pitch meetings. By providing a menu of choices, this information increased the quantity of donors and donations. Click on the list on the left to read this series of "tweets".
Jim MacDonald has managed more than $100,000 in online advertising campaigns through Google Adwords, Bing Advertising (Microsoft) and other venues, delivering more than 60 million ad impressions to clients in the USA and Canada.
The graph on the left illustrates a Google Adwords campaign that delivered more than 42,000 visitors to landing pages on the client’s Web site in just over 6 months.

Sometimes a client comes to you with a brand in mind. That's what happened when a local auto group came to us with an idea for their new subprime lending division. We discussed the proposed brand with the client and asked for 24 hours to come up with something better.
The next day we delivered our concept for the brand and the slogan: "Need a car in New Brunswick? Get a loan fast from CarQuick!"
The client was thrilled and CarQuick has been a top brand in the market since 2006.
AnyWare Group Inc.
For this Adobe Flash-based demonstration of how AnyWare Group's ROAM SAAS service works, all elements were drawn in Adobe Illustrator and imported into Flash to ensure that the presentation would look crisp at any screen resolution.
This presentation was a deciding factor in a sale to a major account.
Many AnyWare Group clients were quoted as saying that this presentation clarified important questions for them.
Web Site Development
We've developed Web sites for divisions of large multinational corporations, like Aalborg Industries; national retail chains like Bulk Barn; I.T. companies like AnyWare Group; and small businesses, like Montessori North School and SaintJohnCatering.com.
In years past, we built interactive Web sites using Adobe Flash. LeapCloud is now building Web sites that are compatible with ipads and iphones using HTML 5 compliant applications.
As much as we love the Web and social media, we're convinced that radio remains a very effective local advertising medium.

These campaigns used non-professional employee voices to make the commercials stand out.
They were designed to give a local flavor and encourage familiarity that builds relationships with prospects, so when listeners need a vehicle, they think of O'Leary first.

We researched, wrote and produced six 30-minute podcasts for Realty Executives in Saint John.

These programs were also broadcast as infomercials on the local market's most popular radio station: Country94.
GE Power Management
The 256-page GE Power Management catalog (art directed by Jim MacDonald) was designed to be versatile. Each of the products pages in the catalog was simultaneously usable as an individual brochure. Pages could be removed from the catalog or PDF versions could be attached to email.
This catalog successfully rebranded the products and merged the corporate cultures of what, at the time, were 4 newly merged divisions/acquisitions at General Electric, located in Canada, the US, Spain and Puerto Rico.
The "West Side Sale"
A special event can stir up excitement in the community – if it's truly exciting!
We developed, managed and implemented a radio/newspaper/Web saturation-marketing campaign for this “Off-site Event,” including creating an oversized foldout flyer with a $10,000 giveaway that created strong buzz in the community.
Our faux “on-location” radio spots created “live event” excitement.
More than a thousand people attended the event and O'Leary Auto Group sold a month’s worth of cars in 3 days.
Brochures for AnyWare Group were designed to explain complex ideas to decision makers in government and in hospital administration as well as technical personnel.
We employ technology experts to translate English language documents into French.
Landing pages can be very helpful when testing a new product or service.
Illnessbenefit.com allowed Hope Grant Insurance to test the market for disability insurance through local online advertising and through radio commercials.
Discrete domain names like this one can be very memorable and increase sales leads when used as a complement to a traditional advertising campaign.
This Adobe Flash presentation incorporates a video walkthrough to help launch a new product for ADWEL International.
For high tech products in B2B markets, instructional videos make excellent marketing tools, because users can learn enough about the product to decide that they want it.
This presentation was originally provided as an interactive application that autolaunched from a CD and was later added to the Internet for online video streaming.
Making a quick sales pitch to passers-by at a trade show requires tremendous flexibility as the salesperson must quickly qualify each lead.
At the center of this trade show booth is a large touch-sensitive display combined with a non-linear PowerPoint we created. This allowed salespeople to rapidly deliver an instantly customized presentation on topics of interest to each individual booth visitor.
LeapCloud's work with large formats also includes booth design and vertical banners as shown in this photo of the AnyWare Group presence at the eHealth trade show.
"Corona” is a bad thing for electrical engineers and ADWEL sold technology to detect "corona". Connecting Corona beer with the ADWEL brand was an effective way to communicate the idea that the company had a hospitality suite at the trade show.
The "Corona" Poster was illustrated by Jim MacDonald in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Jim MacDonald has created the poster art for 3 of the Saint John Theatre Company Productions, including drawing the cartoon for “Tuesdays with Morrie”.
Email is powerful because it's "free" – but that means that it's easily abused and recipients are quickly irritated by unsolicited communications. We love e-mail marketing and we use tools to ensure that your customers can opt out if they no longer wish to receive your communications. We also work hard to make sure your messages offer useful, interesting content that will build on your positive relationship with your in-house list and add new business from your purchased lists.
We also believe in the efficient use of direct mail, including addressed and unaddressed Admail. We've mailed a lot of postcards over the years, and we know what catches people's attention and gets them to respond.
Innovative Trade Magazine Advertising
This "double truck" ad for RAG Electronics
published in NASA Tech Briefs magazine and Microwaves and RF Magazine is a collage of photographic elements layered together in Adobe Photoshop.
Using multiple stock photos of underwater scuba divers, and combining them with photos of product, this advertisement plays on the old adage that capital equipment that you don't use anymore would be better off employed as a "boat anchor".
Designed to disrupt the reader's attention, this ad was effective in finding equipment that RAG could buy and resell.

Writing this case study entailed three conversations with the AnyWare Group's customer to ensure that we recounted the story behind the case study in a manner that not only highlighted the benefits of AnyWare Group's offering, but met with the approval of AnyWare Group's customer.
Creating useful content like white papers, case studies and "top ten" lists is critical to successfully capturing leads from your direct email campaigns, paid click advertising and Web site visits. With content marketing, it is possible to capture contact information that can be handed off to your teleprospecting or sales departments for timely follow-up.
